The Oaks launched an agressive fundraising & media relations program. The program included a giant mural, science demonstrations and a public information station.
TheObjectives:
A series of objectives were designed to heighten awareness of the project and the mall, as well as impact Center sales.
- Support the kick-off campaign for the Ventura County Discovery Center resulting in $25,000 in donations, 50 volunteers and 5,000 names for a mailing list of individuals interested in the Discovery Center.
- Increase traffic, resulting in a 5% sales increase over the three month period.
- Generate $30,000 in publicity.
Results:
The Oaks' Kick-Off Campaign provided a jump-start for The Ventura County Discovery Center.
The kick-off campaign at the Oaks exceeded all goals. $75,000 was raised (versus the goal of $25,000); 200 volunteers signed up (versus the goal of 50); and 25,000 names were added to the Center's mailing list (20,000 above goal.)
Sales for the Quarter increased 15%, three times the goal! Comp sales increased by 15% over the three month period.
The Front Page Color Stories resulted in outstanding media exposure. Over $50,000 in publicity was generated for The Discovery Center and The Oaks, 66% above goal.
